How do I add
a new customer AND begin a "quick quote"?
Immediately after successfully logging into IBQ's servers,
you will be shown the initial customer creation / retrieval
screen (click here to see
the customer screen)
When you first add a customer, you must enter their first
and last name in the setup screen. The program will not allow
you to create a customer without a first and last name. Once
you have entered the customers first and last name, either
hit you F8 key or click on the "New" button on the right hand
side of the program screen (click
here to view an example screen)
You are now moved into the applicant information tab. You
do not need to enter any information other than the customers
zip code (click here to see
the applicant information gathering screen). As you can
see, the zip code field is mandatory. Once you have entered
the zip, you can click on the word "New" next to auto in the
"lines of business" area (click
here to see the customer screen). You are now ready to
enter the quote information. You will notice that any information
that you enter in the auto rate / application process that
is pertinent to the applicant, will be filled back onto the
main applicant page. Then when you begin a home quote, the
applicant information will fill in automatically.
Once the customer
and quote are created, how do I save the quote?
You can either click on the save button on the right hand
side of the program screen, or you can click on the exit button,
which will ask if you want to save the quote before exiting
the program.
How do I quickly
retrieve an existing quote? (by customer name, quote number,
telephone number or a quote generated from my website)
You can retrieve an existing quote by the following methods:
- Customer Name: From the customer retrieval screen,
type in any part of the customers last name, then hit the
search key (click
here to view an example). You will then be shown a list
of all customers in your database that match the part of the
customer name that you entered (click
here to view a customer list). Double click on the customer
you want to retrieve. You will then be taken into the applicant
screen. You will see the status (quote, application, uploaded)
of your customers auto & homeowners business in the "lines
of business" field. Double click on the line of business you
would like to open (click
here to view applicant screen).
- Quote Number: From the customer retrieval screen,
type in the quote number in the box for "existing quotes"
in the lower left hand corner of the program screen. This
will take you directly into the requested piece of business.(click
here to view an example).
- Telephone Number: From the customer retrieval screen,
type in the customers telephone number in the telephone number
field, then hit the search key (click
here to view an example).
- Quote
generated from my website: From the customer retrieval
screen, type in the webquote number (located on the email
you received indicating that a webquote had been submitted)
and enter it in the the box titled xxx in the lower right
hand corner of the program screen
(view the screen) You will be forced to enter the customers
first and last name in the customer retrieval screen.
