Does the customer already exist in your IBQ database?
As you would know, IBQ maintains a customer database for your agency which holds your previous quotes and uploads. Before you process the endorsement, you must check if the customer already exists in your database - i.e. have you already done a quote or upload for the customer. The reason for this is simple... If the customer is already in your database, but you don't use their customer information when processing the endorsement, the system will create a new customer. Thus you will have two records for the same customer in your database.
To find out if the customer exists, simply type the first letters of their last name into the first IBQ customer search screen, then click on the search button (Click here to see the screen)
Now click either of the following links, depending on if the customer is in your database
The customer DOES exist in your IBQ database.
After the IBQ system finds your customer search, just double click on the line displaying their complete name (Click here to view). You are then shown the customer information page. If there is already a policy number assigned to the line of business, just click on the policy number & the system will ask if you want to enter endorsement mode. Click yes & IBQ will connect with the company server and retrieve that policy image.
If the line of business is either in UPLOAD, Application, or Quote state, you will need to click in the lower right hand corner of the screen, select the company that the policy number belongs to, then enter the policy number (Click here to view). The system will ask if you want to enter endorsement mode. Click yes. You will not need to enter the policy number for the customer again, because it is now written to the customer file in your IBQ database.
The customer DOES NOT exist in your IBQ database
If you know that the customer does not exist in your database, or your search does not find any customer, just click on the "new" button from the search screen (Click here to view). Do not enter any customer information. In the lower right hand corner, select the company for endorsements, then enter the policy number (Click here to view). The IBQ system will retrieve the policy image from the company and populate your database. The next time you process an endorsement for this customer, you will first call up the customer from the search screen.
